Why have an unplugged Wedding

You hear a lot about “unplugged” weddings. What is that and why does it safeguard your day?

Let me tell you a tale… Imagine your priest – your officiant for your wedding – has a large social media following and maybe a little less knoweldge of social cues and he facebook lives himself walking down the isle of YOUR wedding.

This is not a joke, I saw it with my own eyes. People do crazy things when they have their phone in their hand and they are determined. I have had well-meaning guests step right in front of me with i-phones and i-pads to “get the shot” that they just now ruined for the professionals. It’s so frustrating and distracting to everyone involved. Most of the time I can photoshop it out but sometimes not, so its always a gamble.

as your planning your wedding really think and set your intentions of what feel you’d like for your wedding and then make sure and set those boundaries with your guests. You can also let your guests know that they will have access to the portrait gallery.

*with that said, hand your phone off to your maid of honor or a close family member, have this chat with them and ask them to snap a few on your phone throughout the day (discretely) so that you wake up the morning after with a phone full of instant memories
