Owner of Ink Memories Photography

I’m a Nikon girl, all the way and I strive to make portraits a fun experience for everyone. I want my clients to walk away saying “wow that wasn’t so bad” or even “wow, that was fun!”.

My Dream client would be a couple who make a fancy date out of a portrait session – honestly we DO have the mcuh fun!

My “mission”, you could say, is to reframe the dreaded “portrait experience” into a no-stress time where we make memories being playful and silly and getting absolutely stunning images in the process!

I am a Mom of 2 wild kiddos and have a deep love for Chocolate Icecream, specifically Tillamook Mudslide. My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and we have lived in 3 states – Idaho, Washington and now Oregon. I grew up on the California coast where the Redwoods meet the Ocean. Our family has planted roots in Grants Pass, Oregon and we hope to be here for a long time. If you are feeling adventurous – lets plan to hike and see some beautiful scenery while also creating amazing memories to hang on your walls  for years to come. I based the name off of a favorite quote I heard in College: “the faintest ink is brighter than the brightest memory”. I felt this really resonated with the aesthetic and feel I try and accomplish – I’m here to document your memories and assist in illustrating your legacy.

Extraordinary Experiences

I am a proud prompt based photographer (say that 5x fast). What does that mean for you?

Prompts are specific silly things I say to get reactions or even to simply hold a conversation. Sometimes, actually ALL the time, the reaction is awesome but we get genuine laughter RIGHT after the shock wears off and that is exactly what we are going for. I have a fast shutter speed, and trust me when I say I get all the in-between faces and it works much better than when a parent demands a child – or moody teen – to just sit still and smile. SO let them get comfortable and have a bit of fun, everyone is so much happier in the end.

Nervous about Prompts?
Here are some examples:

Family:
“Who has the stinkiest feet?”, “Family squish!”, “Pretend (middle person) is the oreo cream”

Couples:
“Kiss with your teeth”, “Spin them till their too dizzy to walk, then walk towards me together bumping hips”, “Sneak attack”

Kids:
“Smile like MOM does, now smile you YOU do”, “Let’s do Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, “Do you see a fairy in my camera”

I pinky swear I will never make you sing or improv, I consider those cringe-worthy activities when forced and I would never ask you to do something I wouldn’t do.

I do sometimes invoke bathroom humor with the ‘littles’ if nothing else has been successful – so please let me know if this is something your family is not okay with!
